Position Summary

J Q Charles Group of Companies is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Groundsman to maintain the exterior and interior common areas of J Q Mall, Rodney Bay. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the mall's grounds, parking areas, walkways, landscaped areas, and common spaces are clean, safe, attractive, and well maintained. The role includes pressure washing, landscaping, waste management, and general maintenance duties to provide an excellent environment for tenants, customers, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all exterior and interior common areas of the mall.
2. Sweep and clean parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, walkways, loading areas, and public spaces.
3. Operate pressure washing equipment to clean sidewalks, building entrances, walls, parking areas, and other surfaces as scheduled.
4. Collect and dispose of litter, leaves, and debris throughout the mall property.
5. Empty and clean outdoor and indoor waste bins and transport garbage to designated disposal areas.
6. Maintain landscaped areas by watering plants, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and keeping flower beds tidy.
7. Assist with minor grounds maintenance and basic facility upkeep.
8. Clean drains and ensure drainage systems remain free from debris.
9. Set up and dismantle equipment, barriers, or furniture for mall events and promotions.
10. Report maintenance issues, damaged property, safety hazards, or vandalism to the Mall Manager.
11. Monitor the parking areas to ensure they remain clean, orderly, and safe for customers and tenants.
12. Safely operate cleaning equipment, pressure washers, landscaping tools, and other maintenance equipment.
13. Maintain cleaning equipment and report any faults or repair requirements.
14. Follow all occupational health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
15. Perform any other groundskeeping or general maintenance duties assigned by the Mall Manager.

Qualifications

1. High school education or equivalent is an asset.
2. Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, janitorial services, or facilities maintenance is preferred.
3. Experience operating pressure washing equipment and landscaping tools is an advantage.
4. A valid driver's licence is considered an asset.

Knowledge & Skills

1. Knowledge of grounds maintenance, landscaping, and commercial cleaning techniques.
2. Ability to safely operate pressure washers, lawn equipment, and other maintenance tools.
3. Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
4. Ability to identify maintenance and safety concerns.
5. Strong organizational and time management skills.
6. Good communication and teamwork skills.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
8. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

Working Conditions

1. Full-time position.
2. May be required to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts.
3. Work involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and the operation of pressure washing and grounds maintenance equipment.
4. Duties are performed throughout the mall property, including parking lots, landscaped areas, sidewalks, common areas, and building interiors.
